About Bay Village of Sarasota
Bay Village of Sarasota, Inc. is a Florida not-for-profit corporation organized to own and operate a retirement community. The corporation owns the land, buildings, and all the assets of the community.
Rather than stockholders, the corporation has “members” of the congregants of Pine Shores Presbyterian Church, which established Bay Village on Christian principles in 1972.
The sole function of the members is to elect the corporation Board of Directors. The Directors, who serve voluntarily without compensation, are responsible for goal setting, policy making, standard setting, program evaluation, and fiscal management of Bay Village.
The Board of Directors employs an Executive Director, who manages the day-to-day operations of Bay Village of Sarasota.
