• Pine Shores Music Ministry HighlightsPine Shores continues to have a strong and vital Music Ministry with children, youth, and adults actively participating as singers, ringers and instrumentalists.
    • Our Director of Music, Rick Holdsworth leads an active music ministry which includes the Chancel Choir (youth and adult singers), Clara Kaiser Carillon (advanced adult handbells), Bells of Joy (intermediate adult and Youth handbells), and JOY Company Chimers (children in grades 3-5).
    • Our Concert Series continues to show steady attendance numbers. The 2016-2017 season included Woodworks Marimba Quartet, Matt Bokulic and Prentice Pilot Jazz quartet with vocalist, The Merling Trio and the Riverview High School Choirs.
    • Our Sounds of the Soul first Friday service continues featuring local musicians on the First Friday of the month October through April. Weather permitting is held outside under the trees behind the sanctuary.
    • The Connections Music team, under the leadership of Matt Dienna, continues to lead the music at our Sunday morning informal worship gathering.
    • Several members of our Clara Kaiser Carillon and Bells of Joy handbell choirs participated in a handbell festival in Tampa which was led by well know composer/clinician Cathy Moklebust in February of 2016. Our Director of Music, Rick Holdsworth taught several classes during the workshop.
    • Pine Shores hosted a very successful one day handbell workshop for directors from around the state.
    • A committee has been formed and is working on the details for the 2018 celebration of 50 years of Handbells at Pine Shores.
    • Ring Sarasota community handbell ensemble, under the direction of our Director of Music Rick Holdsworth, continues to grow and is now in its seventh season. They continue to rehearse in our choir room and are becoming more independent with their equipment needs.
    • For the fourth straight year, Rick was accepted for and rang with Distinctly Bronze East, a handbell event in New Bern, NC with the best 130 ringers in the United States ringing together as a group. He will be returning for his fifth year in 2017.
    • Our Director of Music, Rick Holdsworth, has had two more of his handbell arrangements published: “God Bless the USA” published by Lorenz Publishing and “Finale to 1812 Overture” published by From the Top Music.
