Somedays my head is full of stuff. It’s full of annoying thoughts, interesting ideas, varied possibilities, insignificant data, wonderful memories and meaningful reminders of dear people I have not seen for way too long. I’m having that kind of day. My brain is full and the stuff in there is scattering way too many neurons in my brain. I’m working hard at staying focused, trying to be relevant, to generate a bit of wisdom for the living of these days, offering something of value to make a difference in your day.  However, interesting as it might be, I can’t merely reflect on nothing. (Let it pass – you don’t need to say anything. I know what you’re thinking.)
Instead an idea – maybe I will focus on a list of trending words I discovered on some obscure website. Words like robot, Russia, bacteria, black, slave, picnic, polka, Swiss, profit, Welsh. Maybe it will be the on the board game Suspicion where everyone guesses who is which character, then all identities are revealed.  What about the possibility of reflecting on the movie Avatar where there is conflict between modern humans and nature and themes of racism, militarism and patriotism, corporate greed, property rights, spirituality and religion are raised. Or  maybe a Vicktor Frankl quote: “Everything depends on the individual human being, regardless of how small a number of like-minded people there is, and everything depends on each person, through action and not mere words, creatively making the meaning of life a reality in his or her own being.” (Yes to Life: In Spite of Everything)
Our invitation today is to enjoy whatever you are experiencing. See it as a gift and make meaningfulness out of your struggles and smiles. If you’re having one of those kind of days, sense God’s goodness surrounding you.

Scripture Reading: 1 Timothy 4:4-5
“For everything created by God is good, and nothing is to be rejected, provided it is received with thanksgiving; for it is sanctified by God’s word and by prayer.”

Reflection Questions:
What goodness fills your life?
How are you making meaning out of your days?
Who do you need to prayer for?

Prayer: Holy God, it may not be my best day but it is good because I am surrounded by people who love me. Remind me that your goodness follows me all the days of my living and I dwell in your presence. Amen.
