Happy Friday – just remember it is day 30.  Here you go – enjoy. The hospital’s dietician was giving a lecture to several community nurses. She said…”the rubbish we put into our stomachs and consume should have killed most of us sitting here, years ago. Red meat is terrible. Fizzy and sweet drinks attack your stomach lining. Chinese food is loaded with msg. Vegetables can be disastrous because of fertilizers and pesticides and none of us realizes the long-term damage being done by the rotten bacteria in our drinking water. However, there is one food that is incredibly dangerous and we all have, or will, eat it at some time in our lives. Now, is anyone here able to tell me what food it is that causes the most grief and suffering for years after eating it?” A 65-year-old nurse, getting ready to retire, sitting in the front row stood up and said, “Wedding cake.”

Scripture Reading: 3 John 1:2
“Beloved, I pray that all may go well with you and that you may be in good health, just as it is well with your soul.”

Reflection Questions:
What is going well with you?
What helps keep your body in good health?
What strengthens your soul?

Prayer: Holy God, as I make my way into this day and the days ahead, empower me in the choice I make to be of good cheer and to remain in good health, so all is well in my soul. Amen.
