A Four-Week Study during Black History Month
The Christian Century a long standing magazine helping Christian’s think critically, and living faithfully has developed a four-week Conversation Guide featuring articles for conversation in congregations, with action steps for groups and individuals.
Rev. Paul Reiter, Spiritual Director and Justice Ministry advocate here at Pine Shores, will be leading a four-week, one-hour Zoom discussion. The class will meet on Monday evenings at 7:00 p.m. starting February 15th.
Part one will focus on thinking about racism, our role, and how we might bring about change. Topics include: Becoming less defensive about White privilege; why we should not be surprised about racism; what we can do if we believe that racism is wrong; and how do we know that Black lives matter to God. Part two will focus on more steps to alleviate racism including looking at why so many White Americans are standing up for racial justice, and wearing down structural evil with the ministry of erosion.
Join in the conversation as we look at how we might live more faithfully.
