Rev. Dr. Bruce Wismer

Bruce grew up in St. Petersburg, Florida where his family was always involved in a community of faith. He graduated from Presbyterian College in Clinton, S.C. and Louisville Presbyterian Theological Seminary. Bruce earned his Doctor of Ministry degree in 1997. His project was entitled: “Toward Healing: An Exploration of Faith Issues with Survivors of Domestic Violence.” Bruce’s ministry has been primarily in Florida . He and Karen his spouse, have served as Co-Pastor for the past 14 years.

Bruce has served on the Board of Habitat for Humanity and All Faiths Food Bank, Safe Place and Rape and Crisis Center, Sarasota Community Organizations Active in Disasters. He is a member of the National Response Team of Presbyterian Disaster Assistance. He is a Certified Compassion Fatigue Professional and collaborated in developing Compassion Fatigue Prevention & Resiliency Training for Faith Leaders: Trainer’s and Participant Manual.

Bruce and Karen have been married 32 years and have two adult children Lindsay and Sam. He likes to golf, cook and enjoys being with family and friends.
